Joe Paterno!

There are many different views on this issue, and I myself am on the edge about it. Sandusky defiantly deserves to go to jail for a long time, then maybe he will understand how if feels to be on the other side of  a rape crime. I however don't think that he should get lethal injection because then his life would just come to an end, I think he needs to suffer for a very long time. As far as Paterno goes, I am not quite sure what should be done.
When Paterno was told about the incident with Sandusky and the young 10 year old boy, he went to who was above him with the issue. That was the right thing to do, however when nothing was done he didn't make sure that the issue was heard about. This is the issue many people are having with Paterno, that he did not see to it that some charges where put on Sandusky. Like I said I am in between the fences because I think he was both right and wrong. Yes, I agree with him 100% on telling the person above him, but I dont agree that he did not go furthur with the issue when nothing was done. Like you said, there is a law that may possibly be passed soon, which I think should be passed because it is very wrong that many people knew about this and said nothing. Paterno should have lost his job because he should have said something to authorities, however he should not be getting all the heat (although his is Penn States legendary coach). The people in charge at Penn State need to see to it that everyone that was involved, or knew about this, gets fired. However, Paterno never even saw the act first hand, he heard it from someone else, so maybe his job should have stayed in place? Like I said I'm on the fence. If they do not fire all the people involved, then this would be horribly wrong, being that Paterno would be the only one to get fired, when he probably did more about the issue than some other, such as McQuery, who saw the act first hand. This law needs to be in place so that issues like these will, hopefully, not arise in the future.
